Check price on Amazon →The Pizza Oven Database: 66 Ovens, Every Spec Sourced, Nothing Guessed
One sortable reference table for every pizza oven we can verify, with a provenance marker on every figure so you can tell a certified rating plate from a marketing claim. Includes two numbers nobody else publishes: dollars per square inch of pizza, and burner output per square inch of pizza. Where a spec is genuinely unpublished we print "not published" and leave the arithmetic blank rather than fill the gap with a guess.

This is a database, not an opinion. Sixty-six pizza ovens, each one carrying its fuel, its stated peak floor temperature, the largest pizza it will cook, its weight, its live price as of August 8, 2026, and whether you can buy it on Amazon or only from the manufacturer. Every figure is marked with where it came from, because a number printed on a certification rating plate and a number typed into a product listing are not the same kind of claim and should never be set in the same typeface without a warning.
Thirty-two of the 66 ovens publish a peak temperature. Twenty-eight publish a weight. Eight publish a burner rating. The other cells are blank on purpose. Every other spec table on the internet fills those gaps by inference, and once you do that the table stops being evidence. We would rather publish a page with holes in it than a page you cannot check.
The two columns worth your attention are the ones we computed. Dollars per square inch of pizza converts a sticker price into what you actually get for it, and it ranges from $0.38 to $8.84 across this database, a 23x spread. BTU per square inch does the same thing for heat, and it says something uncomfortable about the premium shelf: the $498.00 Ooni Koda 16 puts 144.2 BTU per hour behind every square inch of pizza and the $999.99 Gozney Arc XL puts 87.0, and both are marketed at the same 950°F.
All 60 Amazon ASINs in this database were re-pulled through the official Amazon Creators API on August 8, 2026. Fifty-six returned a price and four were out of stock, so those four show no price rather than an old one. Six more ovens are sold direct only and carry the manufacturer's published price, marked as such. Use it, quote it, correct us if you have a primary source we missed.
The short version
- 66 ovens. 32 publish a peak floor temperature, 46 publish a maximum pizza size, 28 publish a weight, 8 publish a burner rating, and 62 have a usable current price. The rest print "not published".
- Peak temperature is not a differentiator. Of the 32 ovens that publish one, 16 state exactly 950°F. Across the whole database published peaks span 700°F to 1110°F, a 1.6x range, while price spans $42.50 to $5,472.50, a 129x range.
- Dollars per square inch of pizza runs from $0.38 (Betty Crocker Pizza Maker Plus) to $8.84 (Breville Smart Oven Pizzaiolo). Among 12-inch ovens alone, where the pizza is identical, the spread is still 23.3x.
- The ladder is brutally consistent: median dollars per square inch is $0.80 under $150, $2.20 from $150 to $300, $3.09 from $300 to $600, $5.08 from $600 to $1,000, and $6.46 above $1,000. You pay 8x more per square inch at the top for the same 950°F.
- Burner output per square inch tells a different story to price. Ooni Koda 16: 144.2 BTU/hr per sq in. Gozney Roccbox: 126.7. Ooni Koda 12: 119.4. Gozney Arc: 93.5. Gozney Arc XL: 87.0. The two most expensive gas ovens with published ratings have the least burner behind each square inch of pie.
- Sixteen ovens will cook a 16 inch pie or larger, priced from $259.90 to $1,499.00. The cheapest of them costs $1.29 per square inch and the most expensive $7.46, which is a 5.8x spread on the same nominal capacity.
- The single highest published peak in the database, 1110°F on a $120.64 oven, is a retail-listing claim with no manufacturer document behind it. It is marked L for that reason, and it is the figure we would most like to see independently verified.

How to read this database
Every figure below carries a marker telling you what kind of claim it is. This is the whole point of the page. A spec table that prints a certified rating plate figure and a seller's listing copy in the same font is not a reference, it is a rumour with borders.
| Marker | Means | How much to trust it |
|---|---|---|
| C | Certified document: a rating plate, an ANSI Z21.89 / CSA gas manual, or the rating information page of an instruction manual | The strongest class here. A third party had to see this number. |
| M | Manufacturer: the brand's own published specification page | Reliable about the brand's intent, unaudited about the world. Marketing maxima live here. |
| L | Listing: stated only on the retail listing, with no manufacturer publication found | The weakest class. Treat as a seller's claim until somebody documents it. |
| D | Derived: computed by us from other figures on this page, arithmetic shown below | As good as its inputs, and its inputs are marked. |
| not published | We looked and the figure does not exist in any source we accept | An honest hole. It is never an estimate in disguise. |
Marker counts across the 66 ovens. Peak floor temperature: 27 marked M, 5 marked L, 34 not published. Maximum pizza size: 28 marked M, 18 marked L, 20 not published. Weight: 28 marked M, 38 not published. Burner or power rating: 6 marked C, 2 marked M, 58 not published. Price: 56 live from the Creators API, 6 manufacturer-published for direct-only ovens, 4 not published because the listing was out of stock.
Two more conventions. Peak floor temperature on this site means the temperature of the stone itself at launch, not the air in the dome; see the methodology for why that distinction changes which ovens look good. Max pie is the largest pizza the manufacturer says the oven will cook, which is what the derived columns are computed from.
The master table: all 66 ovens
Alphabetical by brand. Every oven name is a link to the listing or brand page we sourced it from. Prices are live as of August 8, 2026 except where marked M, which are manufacturer-published prices for ovens with no Amazon listing. The table scrolls sideways on a phone.

Six of these ovens are direct only: the Gozney Dome, the Gozney Dome S1, the Solo Stove Pi, the Witt Etna Rotante, the Bertello Grande, and the Ooni Fyra 12. They have no Amazon listing we can verify, so their price column is the manufacturer's published figure and their links go to the brand. They are in the table because a database that quietly drops the ovens it cannot monetise is not a database.
Four ovens show no price at all: the All-Clad 16 inch, the Cozze 17 inch, the Mont Alpi MAPZ-SS, and the Flame King TANUR. All four were out of stock at the pull. We would rather show you a hole than a price that stopped being true in June.
Derived column 1: dollars per square inch of pizza
A sticker price tells you what an oven costs. It does not tell you what you are getting, because a $499 oven that cooks a 16 inch pie and a $499 oven that cooks a 12 inch pie are not the same purchase. So we divide.
The arithmetic. Maximum pizza area = pi × (diameter ÷ 2)². A 12 inch pizza is 3.1416 × 6² = 113.1 sq in. A 16 inch pizza is 3.1416 × 8² = 201.1 sq in. Dollars per square inch = price ÷ area. Worked, for the Ooni Koda 16: $498.00 ÷ 201.1 = $2.48 per square inch. Worked, for the Gozney Roccbox: $399.00 ÷ 113.1 = $3.53 per square inch. Same brand tier, same stated 950°F, and the Roccbox costs 42% more per square inch of pizza.
Forty-two of the 66 ovens have both a price and a published maximum pizza size, so 42 get this number. Here they are, cheapest per square inch first.

| Breville Smart Oven Pizzaiolo | 12 inM (113.1 sq in) | $999.95 | $8.84D |
Read the two ends of that table together. The Betty Crocker Pizza Maker Plus delivers a 12 inch pizza for $0.38 per square inch and the Breville Smart Oven Pizzaiolo delivers the same 12 inch pizza for $8.84, which is 23.3 times more. The Breville is a far better machine and we say so in our Breville Pizzaiolo review. But 23x is a number worth sitting with before you decide what a pizza oven is supposed to cost.
The pattern by price band is the finding, though. Grouping the 42 by what they cost:
| Price band | Ovens in band | With both inputs | Median $ / sq in |
|---|---|---|---|
| Under $150 | 16 | 11 | $0.80 |
| $150 to $299 | 17 | 9 | $2.20 |
| $300 to $599 | 14 | 13 | $3.09 |
| $600 to $999 | 6 | 6 | $5.08 |
| $1,000 and up | 9 | 3 | $6.46 |
That is a clean monotone ladder across five bands, and the peak temperature column is flat across all of them. Whatever the premium shelf is selling, it is not heat and it is not surface area. It is build quality, insulation, recovery between bakes, door design, and looks, all of which are real and none of which show up in a spec table. Our best pizza oven for the money guide is the argument about where on that ladder to stand; this page is just the ladder.
Derived column 2: burner output per square inch of pizza
A BTU rating on its own is meaningless for comparison, because a big oven needs a big burner. Divide it by the pizza it has to heat and it becomes a real number: how much fire is behind each square inch of your pie.
The arithmetic. BTU per square inch = certified burner rating (BTU per hour) ÷ maximum pizza area (sq in). Worked, for the Ooni Koda 16: 29,000 ÷ 201.1 = 144.2 BTU/hr per sq in. Worked, for the Gozney Arc XL: 17,500 ÷ 201.1 = 87.0. Same 16 inch pie, same stated 950°F, and the Koda 16 has 1.66 times the burner behind it at half the price.
Only eight ovens in the database publish a burner or power rating at all, and every one of those eight figures is carried over from our running-costs study, where it was sourced to a certification manual or a manufacturer spec page and cited individually. Five are gas.
| Oven | Burner rating | Max pie | BTU/hr per sq in | Price |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Ooni Koda 16 | 29,000 BTU/hrC | 16 in (201.1 sq in) | 144.2D | $498.00 |
| Gozney Roccbox | 14,330 BTU/hrC | 12 in (113.1 sq in) | 126.7D | $399.00 |
| Ooni Koda 12 | 13,500 BTU/hrC | 12 in (113.1 sq in) | 119.4D | $298.95 |
| Gozney Arc | 14,400 BTU/hrC | 14 in (153.9 sq in) | 93.5D | $799.99 |
| Gozney Arc XL | 17,500 BTU/hrC | 16 in (201.1 sq in) | 87D | $999.99 |

| Ooni Volt 2 | 1,600 WM | 12 in (113.1 sq in) | 14.1D | $698.95 |
Two things to take from these tables, and one caution. First, the gas ranking runs almost exactly opposite to the price ranking. The cheapest gas oven with a certified rating, the Ooni Koda 16 at $498.00, has the most burner per square inch; the most expensive, the Gozney Arc XL at $999.99, has the least. Second, all three electric ovens land within 13% of each other, from 14.1 to 15.9 watts per square inch, which is what happens when every product is designed around the same 120 V household circuit. There is no premium electric oven with more heat available, because the wall will not give it one.
The caution: a burner rating is an input figure. It says how fast the oven burns fuel, not how much of that heat reaches the base of your pizza. A well-insulated oven with a smaller burner can hold a hotter stone than a leaky one with a bigger burner, which is very likely part of what the Gozney number is telling you. Nobody publishes a thermal efficiency figure for any pizza oven, so this comparison is honest about fuel going in and silent about heat coming out. If you want the money version of the same arithmetic, that is the running-costs study.
Segment: by fuel
Five fuel classes. Gas is 21 ovens, electric 19, multi-fuel 14, wood 7, wood pellet 5. Each table is ranked by dollars per square inch where we have it.
Gas (21 ovens). The mainstream outdoor shelf and the most consistent segment in the database: of the 15 gas ovens publishing a peak temperature, the median is 950°F and the range is only 850°F to 950°F. Median price $498.95, median $2.48 to $5.20 per square inch depending on where in the shelf you shop. Full ranking in best gas pizza ovens.

Multi-fuel (14 ovens). The widest spread of anything here: prices from $79.99 to $5,472.50 and published peaks from 720°F to 1110°F. This is the segment where the marker column earns its keep, because the highest and lowest temperature claims in the whole database both sit in it and neither has a certification document. Ranked field: best multi-fuel pizza ovens.

Electric (19 ovens). The largest segment by count and the only one where peak temperature genuinely varies with price: of the seven that publish a figure, the range is 700°F to 850°F and the median is 800°F, well below the gas shelf. That gap is the real electric trade-off, and it is why the electric guides talk about bake time instead of temperature. See best electric pizza ovens and best indoor pizza ovens.
Wood (7 ovens). The worst-documented segment in the database by a distance: not one of the seven publishes a peak temperature, and only one publishes a maximum pizza size, so six of the seven have no derived columns at all. That is not an oversight on our side, it is the state of the published record for wood-fired ovens at this price level. Context in best wood-fired pizza ovens.

Segment: by price tier
Sixty-two ovens have a usable current price. The cheapest is $42.50 and the most expensive is $5,472.50, a 129x range, and the median is $299.99. Here is what each tier actually contains.
| Tier | Ovens | Median $ / sq in | What is actually in it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Under $150 | 16 | $0.80 | Countertop electrics and small pellet and wood boxes. Only 3 of the 16 publish a peak temperature at all. Cheapest per square inch by a wide margin, and the segment where the spec record is thinnest. |
| $150 to $299 | 17 | $2.20 | Where the credible outdoor ovens start: the Ooni Karu 12 at $249.00, the VEVOR 16 inch at $259.90, the Pizzello 16 inch at $259.99. The best value density in the database. |
| $300 to $599 | 14 | $3.09 | The mainstream shelf. Ooni Koda 12 and 16, Gozney Roccbox and Tread, Halo Versa 16, Solo Stove Pi Prime, Bertello Grande. Seven of the 14 state exactly 950°F, more than any other band. |
| $600 to $999 | 6 | $5.08 | Ooni Volt 2, Ooni Karu 2 Pro, Gozney Arc, Gozney Arc XL, Witt Etna Rotante, Breville Pizzaiolo. Same stated ceiling as the tier below, at roughly 1.6x the cost per square inch. |
| $1,000 and up | 9 | $6.46 | Domes, twin-zone ovens, brick-floor showpieces, and commercial gear. Only 3 of the 9 publish a maximum pizza size, so this is the tier where the derived columns thin out fastest. |
The tier tables that go with these: under $300, under $500, under $1,000, and over $1,000. The honest summary of all four is in the ladder above: crossing a tier boundary buys you build, not heat.
Segment: by portability, and what a pound of oven costs
Only 28 of the 66 ovens publish a weight, and the 38 that do not are almost entirely Amazon-native brands whose listings give a shipping weight or nothing at all. We will not treat a shipping weight as an oven weight, so those rows are blank. What follows is the 28 that publish one, lightest first.

The break point is clear and it is not where the marketing puts it. Eighteen of these 28 are flagged portable by their makers, and their weights run 20.4 lb to 61.7 lb with a median of 34.7 lb. The ten not flagged portable run to a median of 72 lb and a maximum of 220 lb for the Alfa Moderno 2 Pizze. Anything over about 60 lb is a two-person lift and a permanent home, whatever the product page calls it.
The three lightest ovens their makers call portable are the Ooni Koda 12 at 20.4 lb, the Ooni Fyra 12 at 22 lb, and the BIG HORN 12 inch at 24 lb. The heaviest thing anyone still calls portable is the Ooni Karu 2 Pro at 61.7 lb, which is portable in the sense that a car battery is portable. If weight is your constraint, best portable pizza ovens and best pizza oven for camping are the ranked versions of this table.
Segment: ovens that fit a 16 inch pie
This is the single most common size question we get, so it gets its own table. Sixteen ovens in the database state a maximum pizza of 16 inches or larger. They cost between $259.90 and $1,499.00, which is a 5.8x range for the same nominal capacity.

Two of those 16 have no price because their listings were out of stock at the pull, so they carry no derived figure. Of the 14 that do, the VEVOR 16 inch and the Pizzello 16 inch are tied at $1.29 per square inch and the Gozney Dome is $7.46, which is 5.8 times more for the same stated pie. That gap is the clearest single illustration of what this database is for: the capacity number is identical, and the price is not remotely.
Going bigger than 16 inches narrows the field to exactly one oven with a published figure, the Ooni Koda 2 Max at 20 inches and $1,298.94, which works out to $4.13 per square inch and is therefore cheaper per square inch than either 16 inch Gozney Dome, and cheaper than the 12 inch Ooni Volt 2 and the 12 inch Gozney Tread. Bigger is not automatically worse value. The ranked guides here are best pizza oven for large pizzas and what size pizza oven do I need.
What the whole database says, in three findings
1. Peak temperature has stopped being a differentiator, and the spec sheet has not caught up. Of the 32 ovens that publish a peak floor temperature, 16 state exactly 950°F. The published range across the entire database is 700°F to 1110°F, a factor of 1.6, while price ranges over a factor of 129. Every oven from $249.00 to $3,199.00 in the gas and multi-fuel segments claims essentially the same ceiling. If a brand is selling you on its temperature number, it is selling you the one thing its competitors already have. What actually varies is how long the floor holds that heat between pizzas, and nobody publishes that at all. Our how hot does a pizza oven get explainer is the long version.
2. The premium is real, and it is not in the numbers. Median dollars per square inch climbs $0.80, $2.20, $3.09, $5.08, $6.46 across five price bands while the temperature column stays flat and, among gas ovens with certified ratings, the burner per square inch actually falls. Everything you are buying above about $500 is insulation, materials, recovery, doors, and design. Those are legitimate reasons to spend money and we recommend ovens that cost that much. They are just not visible in any spec a manufacturer publishes, which means a spec table cannot tell you whether a premium oven is worth it, and any table claiming otherwise is bluffing. That judgement lives in the best pizza ovens and are pizza ovens worth it.
3. The published record gets worse as ovens get cheaper, and that asymmetry is itself a buying signal. Every oven in this database that publishes a certified burner rating is made by Ooni, Gozney, Breville, or Ninja. Not one wood-fired oven publishes a peak temperature. Thirty-eight of 66 publish no weight. The brands that document their products are a small minority, and they are the same brands that hold their prices, honour warranties, and still sell parts in three years. Documentation is not a proxy for cooking performance, but it is an excellent proxy for whether a company expects to still exist. The one figure most worth treating carefully is the highest in the database: 1110°F on a $120.64 multi-fuel oven, a retail-listing claim with no manufacturer document behind it, marked L for exactly that reason.

How we chose
What this page is: a specification database, compiled by hand from primary sources, with a provenance marker on every stated figure and computed columns whose arithmetic is printed on the page. It is not a test report. We have not put a thermocouple in 66 ovens and we do not claim to have.
Provenance markers. C means the figure comes from a manufacturer certification document or rating plate (an ANSI Z21.89 / CSA gas manual, or the rating information in an instruction manual). This is the strongest class we have. M means the brand's own published specification page. L means the figure appears only on the retail listing and we found no manufacturer publication of it. D means we derived it on this page from other figures on this page, with the arithmetic shown. Where none of those applies, the cell reads "not published" and stays empty. We never interpolate, average, or infer a spec.
Why manufacturer maxima are treated with suspicion. A peak temperature on a spec page is a marketing figure produced under conditions nobody publishes: preheat time, ambient temperature, fuel, wind, and whether the reading was taken on the stone or in the dome. It is not a certified value, it is not audited, and there is no standard behind it, which is exactly why we mark it M rather than C. A burner rating is different: it appears on a rating plate produced for a safety certification, which is why the BTU figures on this page carry C and the temperature figures do not. Read the temperature column as "what the brand says" and the burner column as "what the certifier saw".
What "peak floor temperature" means on this site. The temperature of the cooking surface itself at the moment you launch, measured on the stone with an infrared thermometer, not the air temperature in the dome and not the reading on a built-in gauge. It is the number that cooks the base of the pizza. Manufacturers frequently publish a dome or air figure and a floor figure without distinguishing them, so treat any single number in that column as the brand's headline claim and see our temperature and cook-time chart for what the styles actually need.
Prices. Every one of the 60 ASINs was re-pulled through the official Amazon Product Advertising / Creators API (getItems) on August 8, 2026. The captured value is the buy-box listing price, which on Amazon can belong to a third-party seller and can change within the day; see our price index for how often it does. Four ovens returned no price because their listings were out of stock at the pull, and those cells read "not published" rather than carrying a stale figure. Six ovens are sold direct only and carry the manufacturer's published price, marked M, because there is no Amazon buy box to read.
Maximum pizza area and the derived columns. Area is pi times the radius squared of the largest pizza the manufacturer states the oven will cook, so a 12 inch oven is 113.1 sq in, a 13 inch is 132.7, a 14 inch is 153.9, a 16 inch is 201.1, and a 20 inch is 314.2. Dollars per square inch is price divided by that area. Burner per square inch is the certified BTU per hour, or the rated watts, divided by that area. We use the pizza the manufacturer promises rather than the stone dimension, because the stone is rarely published and the pizza is the thing you asked for. Where the maximum pizza size is unpublished, both derived columns stay blank.
As of date: August 8, 2026. Specifications change less often than prices; treat the spec columns as current until a manufacturer revises a page, and treat the price column as a snapshot of the date above.
Known conflicts we did not resolve, stated openly. (1) Our dataset records the Ooni Koda 2 Max as a 20 inch oven, from Ooni's own spec page, while its current Amazon listing title says 24 inch. We used 20 inch, which is the manufacturer figure and the one used everywhere else on this site, and we are flagging the disagreement rather than picking silently. (2) The Cozze oven is sold as a 17 inch model but its stated maximum pizza is 16 inch; the model name is the stone size, not the pie. (3) For BIG HORN, the "manufacturer page" recorded in our dataset is the Amazon listing itself, so its 1110°F peak is marked L, not M. (4) For Ninja, Cuisinart, and VEVOR our dataset records a brand homepage rather than a deep link to the model page, so the M on those three rows is a brand-domain reference rather than a page-level citation.
Known gaps, stated plainly. We do not have a burner rating for 58 of the 66 ovens, because most manufacturers do not publish one and many of these are not gas ovens. We do not have a weight for 38 of the 66, almost all of them Amazon-native brands that publish no shipping-independent weight. We do not have a maximum pizza size for 20 of the 66, which is why those rows have no derived columns at all. Four ovens have no current price because they were out of stock. No oven in this database has a published thermal efficiency figure, because no manufacturer publishes one; that gap is discussed at length in our running-costs study.

Corrections. If you hold a primary source that contradicts a figure here, in particular a rating plate or a certification manual for an oven currently showing "not published", we want it. Documented figures replace blanks; we will not fill a blank from a secondary source or a review site.
Key terms
- Peak floor temperature
- The temperature of the cooking surface itself at the moment of launch, read on the stone with an infrared thermometer. It is the number that cooks the base. It is not the air temperature in the dome and not the reading on a built-in gauge, both of which run higher and are what most spec sheets quote without saying so.
- Provenance marker
- The letter attached to every figure in this database recording what kind of source it came from. C is a certification document or rating plate, M is the manufacturer's own spec page, L is a retail listing with no manufacturer publication behind it, D is derived by us with the arithmetic shown. A figure with no marker and no value reads "not published" and is never an estimate.
- Dollars per square inch
- Price divided by the area of the largest pizza the manufacturer says the oven will cook, area taken as pi times the radius squared. It converts a sticker price into cost per unit of pizza. Across this database it runs from $0.38 to $8.84, and the median rises from $0.80 in the under-$150 band to $6.46 above $1,000.
- BTU per square inch
- The certified burner rating in BTU per hour divided by maximum pizza area. It answers how much fire sits behind each square inch of your pie, which a raw BTU figure cannot, because a bigger oven needs a bigger burner. Ooni Koda 16: 144.2. Gozney Arc XL: 87.0. It is an input measure and says nothing about how much heat reaches the pizza.
- Direct only
- An oven with no verifiable Amazon listing, sold through the manufacturer or its dealers. Six ovens in this database are direct only. Their price column carries the manufacturer's published figure rather than a live retail price, marked M, and their links go to the brand.
- Not published
- A figure that does not exist in any source we accept: no certification document, no manufacturer page, no retail listing. It appears 34 times in the temperature column, 38 times in the weight column, and 58 times in the burner column. It is deliberately not an estimate, an average, or an inference from a similar model.
Questions, answered
How many pizza ovens are in this database?
66, covering 5 fuel types and prices from $42.50 to $5,472.50. Sixty of them have a verified Amazon ASIN and six are sold direct only. Not every oven has every spec: 32 publish a peak floor temperature, 46 publish a maximum pizza size, 28 publish a weight, and 8 publish a burner or power rating. The remaining cells read "not published" rather than carrying an estimate.
Which pizza oven has the highest temperature?
The highest published figure in the database is 1110°F, on a BIG HORN 12 inch multi-fuel oven costing $120.64. We mark that figure L, meaning it appears only on the retail listing with no manufacturer document behind it, and it is the single number here we would most like to see independently verified. Among ovens with manufacturer-published figures, 16 different models state exactly 950°F, including every current Ooni Koda and Karu, the Gozney Roccbox, Arc XL, Dome and Dome S1, the Solo Stove Pi, the Halo Versa 16, and the Witt Etna Rotante. Peak temperature is essentially a tie at the top of this market.
What is the best value pizza oven per square inch?
By raw arithmetic, the Betty Crocker Pizza Maker Plus at $0.38 per square inch, followed by the Aidpiza 12 inch pellet oven at $0.44. Both are budget countertop or novelty units and neither publishes a peak temperature. Among ovens that publish a manufacturer temperature, the VEVOR 16 inch and Pizzello 16 inch tie at $1.29 per square inch, and among the mainstream brands the Ooni Koda 16 and Halo Versa 16 tie at $2.48. Cost per square inch measures what you pay for surface area, not what the oven does with it.
Why do you mark some specs differently from others?
Because they are different kinds of claim. A burner rating printed on a certification rating plate was seen by a third-party certifier under a published standard. A peak temperature on a marketing page was produced by the brand under conditions it does not disclose. A figure that appears only in a seller's listing copy has no institution behind it at all. Setting all three in the same typeface would tell you they are equally reliable, and they are not. C, M, and L keep them apart.
Why are some cells blank?
Because the figure is genuinely unpublished and we refuse to interpolate. We do not have a burner rating for 58 of 66 ovens, a weight for 38 of 66, a maximum pizza size for 20 of 66, or a current price for 4 ovens that were out of stock when we pulled prices. Filling those from a similar model or a review site would make the table look complete and make it useless as evidence.
Do more expensive pizza ovens get hotter?
No, and this database is the clearest evidence of that we have. Published peak temperatures span 700°F to 1110°F, a factor of 1.6, while prices span $42.50 to $5,472.50, a factor of 129. Median cost per square inch climbs from $0.80 under $150 to $6.46 above $1,000 with the temperature column flat throughout. Among the five gas ovens with certified burner ratings, the cheapest has the most burner per square inch and the most expensive has the least. What the premium buys is insulation, thermal mass, recovery between bakes, and build, none of which appear on a spec sheet.
Can I cite or reuse this data?
Yes. It is published under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 licence and is free to reuse, including commercially, with attribution. Cite it as: Pizza Oven Review, "The Pizza Oven Database: 66 Ovens, Every Spec Sourced, Nothing Guessed," August 8, 2026, https://pizzaovenreview.com/journal/pizza-oven-database. Please quote the as-of date alongside any price you take from it, since prices move and specifications do not.
How often is the database updated?
Prices are re-pulled through the official Amazon Creators API on a recurring schedule and the page is republished when they move materially; the as-of date at the top always tells you which pull the figures came from. Specifications change only when a manufacturer revises a page or a new model ships, and new ovens are added as their ASINs and specs are verified. If you hold a primary source, in particular a rating plate or certification manual for a row currently reading "not published", send it and we will fill the gap with a citation.
